This isn't a question or a grand unified theory of Smile or anything, just a random thought to confuse things further. I've been listening to the two Smile version of With Me Tonight. The most freely available version (the "Barnyard" version) has the Western vibe of Heroes and Villains, and some people have put forward the theory that it may have at some point been part of Heroes. The other, more uptempo version (on the Heroes and Villains Sessions boot) has backing vocals that are identical to a section of Vega-tables. Make of that what you will.
